The 2011 Trackday Trophy and Team Trophy seasons have now come to an end but we've been working hard throughout the year and particuarly towards the end of the season to collate everyone's feedback about what they'd like to see from the series in 2012.

Registration

Trackday Trophy and Team Trophy registration will be £75 for 2012.

If you register for one series you are entitled to enter in either series. This means that Trackday Trophy competitors can enter any of the Team Trophy races.

Trackday Trophy is to remain a novice race series and therefore Team Trophy competitors will only be permitted to race in Trackday Trophy races if one competitor is a novice (i.e. has completed less than six races before).

Registration for both series is now open via the register page of the website and all registration packs will be dispatched towards the end of January.

Series format and entries

Booking for half of the grid for all races will open at the start of the season. The remaining places for each race will then be available to book online approximately two months prior to each race.

This will enable those with the finances to book and plan their year at the start of the year but will also accommodate those who cannot afford to book the season up front to race.

Trackday Trophy

Format - 30 minute practice, 45 minute races.
One competitor in each team must have completed less than six races before.
Entry Fee - likely to be around £325

Team Trophy

Format
Four rounds will be 30 minute practice with one hour races.
A one off, double header (race on Saturday and Sunday)
A one off Team Trophy Endurance race, likely to be around 2 - 3 hours
Entry Fee - likely to be £399 and for Team Trophy Endurance £tbc
Calendar - seven rounds of the Team Trophy, one double header and one Team Trophy Endurance (2 hour race)

Changes to classes

In 2012 the classing structure for the Trackday Trophy will change. Class A will no longer exist and will be replaced with a Class E representing drivers in cars of 75 - 100 bhp/ton. This will mean that the classing structure for both series will be as follows:

Regulations changes

Pit-stops
Throughout the course of the year we have had several competitors mention the length of the pit-stops for solo entries. For 2012 we are proposing solo entries will conduct a 2 minute pit-stop and two driver teams will conduct a 1:50 pit-stop.

Caterhams
Caterhams and other similar kit-cars may be permitted into the series in 2012. Cars will be measured on their BHP / ton as per all other entries. Specific technical regulations are yet to be confirmed.

Wheel sizes
Stipulations on wheel sizing may be removed for 2012.

Power Testing
For 2012 all vehicles entering the series must be power tested by Torque Developments, Thurrock or Tracktive Solutions, Melton Mowbray. The test will measure power at the hubs. You will need to book a power test with either Torque Developments or Tracktive Solutions and provide Club MSV with the "Performance Certificate" prior to the race meeting.
