Level 3 is the top level of RDP and covers advanced techniques
such as such as trail braking, using a slipper clutch (or
mimicking a slipper clutch with a standard clutch) and how to
master engine braking. It is therefore designed for proficient
trackday riders who are typically in the upper part of the
intermediate group or advanced group.
Typical day
Signing on and safety briefing
When you arrive at the circuit you will be assigned your
instructor who will be dedicated to you and two other students
exclusively for the day. You'll be fast-tracked through signing on
before being escorted to your own garage where you will receive a
private briefing covering everything you'll need to know about the
day.
This will also give your instructor a chance to find out from
you if there are any specific things that you are looking to work
on or any goals you're trying to achieve from the course. If you
don't know - don't worry. They'll help you identify the areas where
you can improve and help you achieve a level of riding that you
never thought possible.
Sighting laps
All participants must carry out sighting laps on trackday
events. However, with your own instructor to follow, you can be
sure that you start the day working on the correct lines.
One to one tuition
Each rider will receive approximately 80 minutes of one to
one tuition with an instructor which will be split into four
sessions - two 20 minute on circuit instruction sessions and two 20
minute debriefing sessions in the pit lane.
Group classroom sessions
Throughout the day there will be a further three classroom
sessions (maximum of three riders per group) covering the
techniques outlined below.
Practice sessions
You also have the opportunity to practice what you have
learned throughout the day in a further four 20 minute practice
sessions on circuit helping you master the disciplines covered in
each course.
End of day de-briefing
At the end of the day, your instructor will carry out a
de-briefing with you where you will receive an analysis sheet to
take away with you detailing how you have progressed throughout the
day and areas to work on in the future.
Recap of RDP Level 1 & 2
A recap of all the disciplines from RDP Level 1 and
2 will ensure that you are ready to work on more advanced
techniques that are taught in Level 3. |
