Following the release of a news piece on our new novice race
series we have had a lot of interest from potential competitors and
therefore we're pleased to announce that the concept is going to
become a reality!
We've been working hard over the last couple of weeks, speaking
to lots of trackday riders and novice racers that expressed an
interest in the series and after putting everyone's ideas and
feedback together we've put outlined the following format for the
racing. However, nothing is set in stone at present so we're still
open to your thoughts and feedback.
Introduction
We want this to be an affordable, relaxed and fun series that
attracts trackday and novice racing riders. By drawing on our
resources we can offer a one-stop shop with everything that new
riders need to get them on the grid, including rider training and
an ACU test to get an ACU race licence.
We will offer riders that enter the series additional help in
the lead up to the first race starting with a Novice Test Day where
we will have instructors on hand throughout the day to help and
answer any questions as well as hosting classroom sessions on bike
preparation. There could also be the opportunity to practice
'racing starts' during the lunch hour.
Race Format
There will be two race formats:
|
For Solo entries
|
For teams of Two, Three or Four riders
|
|
1 hour qualifying / 45 minute race
|
1.5 hours qualifying / 3 hour race

Riders
The Club MSV Bike Trackday Trophy is for riders who are:
- Over 18 years old.
- Have an ACU Novice or Novice / Intermediate licence (If you
aren't already a licence holder, don't worry - Club MSV will be
able to help you obtain a licence at the preseason trackdays as
listed below, or any other Club MSV sessioned trackday).
- Riders who have had a Clubman licence are permitted to compete
in the series providing they compete in a team made up of at least
50% ACU Novice / Novice Intermediate licence holders riders. I.e.
for two rider teams, one rider must be a novice and for three or
four rider teams, two riders must be novices.
- National or International ACU race licence holders are not
permitted to compete in the series.
Please note: one day licences that were issued in 2011 by the
ACU will not be available.
Bikes
Bikes must meet ACU safety requirements:
- Oil catch tank
- Bike must be lock-wired (front and rear brake calliper bolts,
oil filter, oil filler cap and oil sump screw)
- Only water permitted in the radiators (no coolant)
- Sprocket guard
- Frame and engine numbers must be visible
- Slick tyres will not be permitted.
- Full details on ACU technical regulations can be found by CLICKING HERE.

Equipment
All riders must have
|
Beyond the above, we'd generally prefer to keep regulations to a
minimum in year one so that trackday riders who have already
developed their bikes without regulations in mind can take
part.
Provisional Calendar
Provisional dates for the series are as follows. We will run a
trackday on the day prior to the events and possibly a testing
